This fixed base tour centred near Athlone Lough Ree right in the centre of Ireland was bespoke created for a client of McTours are taken in June 2012

Hodson Bay Hotel Lough ReeWhy not explore Ireland by motorbike on using some of these routes on a luxury 8 day Irish motorcycle tour. This offers the greatest rider experience covering the best bikers roads in Ireland and visits interesting Irish landmarks enroute as it meanders along back roads.

Accommodation is on bed, breakfast and evening meal basis mainly based at Hodson Bay Hotel at Lough Ree near Athlone with one night at Killarney when the south west is explored.

Daily routes will vary from circa 160 miles to circa 225 with an average just under 200 with around 6 hours in the saddle. Stops are planned about every 1-2 hours for tea/coffee and lunch breaks and each day we visit different towns and places of interest.

We leave Hodson Bay hotel and join the M6 which we follow for about 15 miles before exiting onto the rural back roads. This brings us to Lough Dreg in Co Galway where we take our first stop for the day at Baile Uí Bheoláin, a charming village on the banks of the Lough.

We continue to the southern end of the lough where we enter Co Clare and onwards to Ennis and later Kilrush where we stop for lunch at the Shannon Estuary.

The return leg brings us back towards Ennis using an alternate route and north passing Lough Cutra to Loughrea (not to be confused by Lough Ree where we bagan) where we stop for afternoon tea.

The final leg takes us from Loughrea back to our hotel at Lough Ree.

Heading west we make our first stop at Tuam for morning coffee, onwards through Westport to Louisburgh with towering views of Croagh Patrick where we stop for lunch

Riding South through Delphi and Leenane, along the shores of Killary bay and onwards to Clifden before beginning our return leg stopping briefly at Mam cross for refuelling and coffee before passing through Galway making the final return to the hotel via N6
