This tour was specifically designed for couple from New Zealand who are competitive endurance sports persons and not shy of long days riding. Each day covers a circa 250 mile journey as we circuit Scotland on mainly quiet minor roads spending up to 9 hours in the saddle each day.

Moffat to Beauly (251 miles - 7 hours riding)

We depart Moffat making our way to Biggar passing the source of the River Tweed as we make our way over the hills. We meander through the Pentland Hills towards Edinburgh and reach Queensferry where we shall take a refreshment break near the location of three iconic crossings over the River Forth.

On the Fife side (north) of the river we make our way through more lowland hills as we head towards the highlands. We pass through Crieff, and break for lunch at Fortingall then onwards toTummel Bridge, Newtonmore, Ft Augustus where we shall take another refreshment break then on to Drumnadrochit and end the day at Beauly.

Beauly to Scourie (253 miles - 6.5 hours riding)

We depart Beauly heading to the pretty Victorial Spa town of Strathpeffer then on to Dingwall, Bonar Bridge and Lairg where we shall take our first refreshment break. From here we head east to join the A9 at Golspie. We then hug the east cost all the way to John o'Groats before turning west to Thurso where we shall break for lunch then onwards to Durness before deviating to the south and ending the day at Scourie.

Scourie to Skye (260 miles - 8 hours riding)

Today we dart in and out from the west coast begining with by travelling south to Kylesku before turning west through Nedd and onwards to Lochinver. We continue south past Loch Garvie to Achiltabuie to view the Summer Isles before turning east to join the A835 at Drumrunie. We shall continue past Ullapool to Corrieshallow Gorge where we deviate course again heading north westerly to Loch Broom before turning south again to Poolewe. From here we will catch regular sights of Loch Marie as we progress towards Kinlochewe.

From Kinlochewe we swing back to the west and from Shieldaig we follow the coast to Applecross before crossing the Bealach na Ba and on to Strathcarron. From here we continue south to Dornie then circuit Loch Duich before ending the day with the Glenelg ferry crossing to Skye.

Skye to Connell (243 miles - 7 hours riding)

We begin the day with a partial circuit of Skye heading north to Portree across the Quirang to Uig then on to Dunvegan and end the circuit at Armadale where we take the 14:40 ferry to Mallaig.

Our route now cuts through the Ardnamurchan Peninsula before reaching another ferry crossing at Ardgour to Corran.as these run every 20 minutes so we can just turn up and go. We complete the day at Connell.

Connell to Gatehouse of Fleet (247 miles - 6.5 hours riding)

We depart Connell passing through Oban and onwards past the Crinnan Canal to Tarbert where we take the ferry to Portavadie. We now turn north passing Tighnabruich and onwards to Cairndow before turning east to Arrochar. Here we change direction again heading south to Gageloch then cross over to Loch Lomond.

We cross the River Clyde at Erskine and make our way to Ayrshire then progress through the Galloway Forrest to end the day at Gatehouse of Fleet.

Motorcycles For Rent in Scotland, Scotland, Available on this Tour

Most motorcycles available for hire are obtained directly from local mainstream dealers and are subject to change especially if the tour listed was last run in previous years. We can source others to ensure most riders needs are accommodated. However, apart from our own fleet we do not have exclusive access to third party rental motorbikes and so models, availability and prices must be confirmed. Prices and terms are set by the dealers who supply the machines and they are liable to update them regularly.
